What obligations and rights does a guardian have?
The first obligation a guardian has is to act in the best interest of the ward, and that’s the person over whom they have appointed to make all these decisions. The rights they have are, for example, they can hire an attorney to represent them. They can hire CPAs. They can hire financial planners. They have the ability to use your assets for your benefit and allow your assets to be used for what is in your best interest. All of these rights and duties are then supervised by the court to make sure that the guardian is following the laws of the state in guardianships.
