What is a pour over will?
A pour over will is a will that is a compliment to a revocable trust. What happens with your assets that are not owned by the trust or not designated to be the beneficiary of the trust that asset is then poured over into the trust at your passing. Typically you have to do that through the probate process. Very few assets need to be poured over into the trust but if in fact you have an asset that does it’s a good way to get it over to the trust and then your pour over will which says the beneficiary’s your trust is the document that is filed with the court and that’s all they see is that the trust is the beneficiary of that will. Not the specifics of the distribution of assets.
