“…there is an abundance of talented individuals that possess the core values we want in our team members and who have the willingness to learn.”
NEW DREAMS
Today’s construction industry represents the same kind of resurgence that the American economy experienced in 1983. After losing more than 2 million jobs at the height of the Great Recession in 2008-09, the industry is beginning to see that flash of hope that many Americans experienced more than 30 years ago.
NEW OPPORTUNITIES
As of 2013, 844,000 veterans were unemployed and looking for work. Additionally, the military separates between 240,000 and 360,000 service members each year. Many of these veterans are ideal candidates to excel in the construction industry—especially with the proper training from invested companies. Many training and apprenticeship programs are already seeing positive results. The latest veterans’ employment report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows a drop in veterans’ unemployment from 7 percent in 2012 to 6.6 percent in 2013.
