What is the difference between an assisted living residence and a nursing home?

An assisted living residence means that there are some activities of daily living that you may not be able to do, whereas in a nursing home, you need skilled care to provide for your care. There’s many things that you cannot do for yourself. An assisted living facility is a much lower level of care, and you can do many things independently and on your own, or with very little assistance from that facility. Nursing home care requires nurses, skilled nurses, doctors, and the like, to obtain the best quality care for you.
